Our parent company Info Express Ltd was founded by our dear departed friend Scott Lafferty in 1994.

Scott was a visionary and programming genius with an interest in all things nautical, especially in the realms of geophysical and hydrographic survey.

He developed software for all things survey related and invested his profits in geophysical survey instruments that we still hire out today. On Scott’s unfortunate demise in 2018 Info Express Ltd was left in limbo until Scott’s friends rescued the company just in time, as the authorities were about to seize its assets because of its inactivity.

Info Express Ltd is still doing well and its management, who also have a history of surveying at sea, wanted to carry on Scott’s interest in helping and promoting the environment. We all had an interest in cycling and understand that, for many, the local hills were an obstacle  in their pursuit of getting out and enjoying the countryside on a bicycle, whether that be because of age, illness, general unfitness or any other reason that stopped them doing so.

The advent of pedal assist (EAPC) electric bicycles presents a solution to this. The electric motor will assist riders up hills, across rough terrain or at the end of a long ride, as long as the rider keep turning the pedals, but with much less effort than if they were to pedal on a non-assisted bicycle.

We have bought and tested several E-bikes and then placed an order for a fleet of Fat Tyre E-Bikes available for hire which is when Xpress Bikes was formed.

In accordance with our environmentally friendly goals, our bikes will be charged by electricity generated by the solar panels on our roof , as will the 100% electric delivery van.
